"Spotted Pets Contest"

Beginning on July 14, use SPOTTED to share your favorite pet photos and be entered to win weekly movie passes or the grand prize of $100 gift certificate "snack pack" for pizza, subs, and other treats at local restaurants.

Post photos of your pets to our special "Pets of Summer" community gallery beginning July 14th.

Buffalo.com will randomly select a weekly winner every Monday through Aug. 25. The grand prize winner will also be selected on Aug. 25.

Buffalo.com/Spotted is one of the newest ways in which The Buffalo News and Buffalo.com are building a greater online community in Western New York. Spotted allows local residents to upload their own photos, create online scrapbooks, share pictures, message friends, and save favorites, free of charge. Area photographers – from experts to hobbyists, high school students to retirees – are also getting involved in the Buffalo.com Spotted internship program, an exciting project that sends community volunteers to the most interesting events in our region to take dozens of photos of the people and the action at the scene. Spotted is a fantastic opportunity for the world to see the best sides of Western New York.

Buffalo.com Official Contest Rules

1. ELIGIBILITY- NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The contest is free to enter and open to any New York State resident 14 years of age or older, except employees of The Buffalo News, associated sponsors and agencies, their assignees, licensees, and members of their immediate families living in the same household. Contest must be entered on-line. Weekly winners will be selected on July 21, July 28, August 4, August 11, August 18, and August 25, all in the year 2008. The grand prize winner will be selected on August 25, 2008. Offer void where prohibited by law.

2. HOW TO ENTER: Submit a pet-related photo or photos to Buffalo.com/Spotted’s Pets of Summer contest community gallery here. Multiple entries are allowed. All entrants must be registered users of Buffalo.com/Spotted.

3. ENTRY RULES AND DISCLAIMERS: The Buffalo News, Morris DigitalWorks, Buffalo.com, Buffalo.com associated sponsors, their agencies, their assignees, and licensees are not responsible for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections, miscommunications, failed phone or computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions or technical failures, garbled or jumbled transmissions or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic, including without limitation the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information online, or for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, destroyed, delayed, stolen, misdirected or illegible entries. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with, altered, include false information or inappropriate images are void. Once submitted, entries become the shared property of The Buffalo News and Buffalo.com. In case of dispute as to identity of a winner, such entry will be declared made by the registered user of the e-mail account, and if a prize is won, and such registered user is a valid entrant, the prize will be awarded to such registered user. Contest organizers are not responsible if you are unable to enter online for any reason.

4. HOW PRIZES ARE AWARDED: One pair of Dipson Movie Passes will be awarded on weekly beginning July 21, 2008 and will continue through August 25, 2008. The grand prize, valued at or under $100, will be awarded on August 25, 2008. Prize winners will be selected randomly from the submitted Pets of Summer photos at Buffalo.com/Spotted. Some restrictions may apply. Should any winner be unable to use the prize as awarded, no cash substitution or pass substitutions will be made. A randomly selected photo, using the number of photos posted and a random number generator that will determine a number corresponding to a photo posted at the Pets of Summer community gallery, will be determined to be the weekly winner. The Grand Prize winner will be selected from all entrants in the same manner. Chances of winning will be determined by the total number of entries received.

5. PRIZE ACCEPTANCE: Prize must be accepted as awarded, no cash equivalents, no substitutions. Contest organizers reserve the right to award a prize of equal or greater value in the event of unavailability. Winner agrees to allow use of their name, address and photo for publicity without compensation. Contest organizers and sponsors are not responsible for any injury incurred by a contestant as a result of winning or participating. Any taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner.

6. The decisions of the contest organizers are final on all matters of fact, interpretation, eligibility, procedure and fulfillment.

7. This contest is subject to all federal, state and local regulations and is void where restricted or prohibited by law. Winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability after notification of winning and release of prize or an alternate winner will be selected. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, or suspend this contest should viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor(s) corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of the contest. In such event, the winner will be selected by random drawing from all eligible entries received up to the time of such cancellation, termination or suspension.

8. By entering this contest, you acknowledge that you have read and accept these rules and agree to be bound by them.
